"Look Mom, they fit!"

Alan was digging in his closet and found a pair of camo overalls. Size 2T. I said, "Oh Alan, those were from when you were a little guy." He comes out in a few minutes to tell me that, "You were wrong mom, they fit!"

Isn't he just so sweet? He wore these for 3 days. Then they disappeared!!!

Happy Birthday Collin!

It's birthday time around the Anderson residence and Chris and I have now been parents 10 years! WOW. We had a pizza party with Mom and Dad A, Bill and Paula, Phil and Denise, Morgan and Makenzie and of course our kiddo's. We had so much fun that Collin forgot to blow out the candles on his cupcakes. (unheard of). We did that the next day. We also had a party at school and I got to meet all his 4th grade friends.

Thoughts on being a mom: What a journey this has been. When we got started with Collin, I thought I knew what I was doing. Ha! No pacifiers past 1 (try 3), sleeping through the night at 8 weeks (try 9 mths-Alan), off the bottle at 1 (2-1/2- Alan), potty training in a day (Ok this one we accomplished but only because they were 3 by the time dropped diapers). Of course they were going to be pleasant, well mannered, polite, energenic, desiring healthy food, sitting still at church, loving God and all that is good for them. I also said I would never force them to eat what they did not like (bad idea--they do not like anything sometimes).

At the threshold of teenagedom, I know I know NOTHING! I pray each day for wisdom to guide this budding young lad. With all his strengths and weaknesses, he is a sweet boy with a powerful will and definate opinions. I pray God will use him for mighty things! Love ya Collin

Plays with paper...

While I have been incredibly busy with the kids, fall harvest and getting my online classroom in order. I have taken/ stolen/ snuck time in to make some fun layouts to some pictures I really like... so I took the time to fuss them up a bit. The scan messed up the fiber on the photo a bit. If you want to see more of the kid's and our family scrabpook visit my place at http://www.scrapbook.com/places/TeriScraps

I think it is kind of fun to have a place to share the layouts I am pleased with. I have been stuck in 2003 getting everyone's books updated and I am very anxious to get to 2004!!! So I keep stealing time as I get it!

I mean what else should you do when the sustained winds outside are36-40mph with gust to 50-60 mph. Yuck sometimes living in KS is NOT fun!

Class is in session...

Starting this week, I started a new job. I am an online instructor for a community college near me. So I am back into Psychology at a minimal level. How the Internet has changed our lives! While this is perfect for me, who does not have the time to "leave" home, commute, teach etc while Alan is in school...it works great to be able to do it on the computer. Although I never see these students, the tests are essay and not proctored, they get credit and I get a paycheck. It has been fun to re-visit psychological principles and practice and to learn what is new in the field since 1991 when I got my MS. Hard to believe. By the way, did I really turn 39 this week. YIKES!!! Photo by Hans

KS State Fair-- it's a wild ride!

Chris and I decided to go to the State Fair on a chilly, dreary Tuesday, so thanks to Mom A (who watched Alan after preschool) we had an enjoyable day seeing all the "interesting" things of KS. After school we took the kids back so they could see the animals, ride the rides and beg for toys and sweets. Chris and Dad A. went to the Truck and Tractor pull while Mom and I took the kids around to their favorite things!

Kansas State Fair top 10:

1. Bungee/ Trampoline bouncy thing. Like the bouncy things you hang in the doorway for a baby only better!

2. Trying out a paint ball gun at a display booth.

3. Sand sculpture

4. Birthing center

5. RAbbits, chickens, ducks and turkey barn

6. Horse show,

7. Riding rides
8. Cotton candy/ ice cream

9. $2.00 hot sausage sandwich with saurkraut that you can taste 12 hours later
10. STicking your face in a hole and wondering what the picture will look like!

Big trucks and hunting...grunt grunt!

Makenzie is enjoying a ride in the family semi. They moved it up to the farm so it is ready for harvest. Come on harvest!

Hans wants to be the next driver...

The kids are loaded in the pickup and ready to go hunting with Chris and Uncles Phil and Bill. Makeznie thoroughly enjoyed her first hunt, the boys were restless at times, but love huntin and are anxious to do their own!! The guys got some birds--dove. Not sure what we will do with it. Feather souffle? Got any good dove recipes? Please, post and we'll have you over for dinner!

Labor Day?

We had a house full of people Saturday and Sunday and just trashed the house. Lots of kids, lots of toys, and what a messsss! I wanted to clean up and the kids said it was Labor Day they should not have to work! But it's Labor Day: Chris went to work, SC students went to class, the pizza place people were working when we ordered, come on and clean up! I did, in fact, win in the end--the house is cleaner. Whew!
So, did you work or play on Labor Day???????????

Erin's video link...

I have Erin's video of her Boat impersonation: I uploaded it to Photo Bucket

http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e40/teriscraps/?action=view&current=S4200022.flv

I'll leave it there for a bit. It was rather funny and she thought she was something. It makes me hurt just looking at it.

She is also practicing her back hand spring on the trampoline, but she still has to put her hands down before she goes all the way over. Keep working on it Erin.
