Row, row row your boat!!!

Erin is in Level 3 gymnastics which means she is learning back hand springs, walk overs, hand stands on the beam, and much more. To show off just how flexible she is, she share some of her talent with us! Sh has a dear boat song to sing with this that includes being tossed overboard. IF I can figure out how to upload a videoclip I'll post that too. Lucky you!

While you were away...

The hustle of the morning is over. Lunches, all 3 are packed, backpacks, waterbottles, kids on the bus, even Alan. It's mom time. But what does she reeeeeealllllllly do when everyone leaves?Well, my favorite mornings include my daily read-through-the-Bible reading and jogging. So FYI, while you were out, I was doing some of my favorite things!!!!! Oh yeah and COFFFEEEEE! Chris even got me some Starbucks for just such an occasion! Don't worry, after the fun stuff there are always: errands to run, meals to cook, cleaning to do, laundry etc. etc. etc....

Shopping, shopping and more shopping...

Chris' brother and sister in law, Phil and Denise and their 2 girls Morgan and Makenzie are in KS City, MO doing training to start their career as full time missionaries with the Nazarene church. They just learned they will be in the Dominican Republic and not Miami FL so they need to stock up on clothes etc. So us "girls" went shopping. Mom Anderson, Denise, Paula (my SIL), Erin, Makenzie and Morgan. We searched high and low for sales items and made out pretty well. We actually go to eat at Taco Bueno (something my guys don't do) However, I like shopping , but too much of a fun thing can get to be not so fun. We still mustered smiles on the way home. Then we had a pizza dinner at our house with the whole Anderson crew plus friends Mykeal, Angi and Adam.

It has been a full day.

Horse Thief Canyon

Before school began we were able to take a day trip to Horse Thief Canyon. I love this place. Not far from home , awesome rocks, caves, trails to hike/ bike or horse ride. We are in a serious draught, so animal life was minimal. Maybe later in the year it will be better. We had a great time. Afterwards we had a picnic lunch, a belching contest and a drive about central Kansas. Good day, eh?

Failure to Launch...

School started here in KS last week. Collin, Erin and Hans all started with little problem. They like their teachers and have favorite friends already. We are all excited because Alan gets to go to half day preschool offered at the grade school. He gets to ride the bus and everything. He started Monday...up early, favorite clothes on, backpacked packed, standing in line waiting for the bus. Collin gets on, Erin gets on, Hans gets on...Alan runs away and hides behind a tree. Crying and clinging Chris and I drive him to the school. I tear him away from me andChris pries him off himself. When I pick him up at 11 he is totally happy and proud of himself. This morning, nope not going, the bus gets here erly and I physically carry him and sit him on the bus. Sigh. At 11:15 I sit awaiting the bus... as you see, he made it! What will tomorrow bring?

My first post...

Hurray! I have taken the plunge and started a family blog. With the kids starting school and the year's activities, now is the perfect time. I will try to upload frequently (weekly? Daily?) I guess we'll see how it goes.
I have included our most recent family portrait: EAster 2006. I scrapbooked it for a contest, even though I did not win :-(
Alan starts preschool in the morning, so I will have some first day of school pics from the older kids and Alan's first day. The big question: will he get on the bus or will I drive him?????
