Too close...

A large thunderstorm built over Sterling and headed off. Taking Erin to gymnastics we could see a brilliant rainbow, both sides and an echo or double of the north part. Stunning, I was still struck by how pretty the rainbow was when we got to gymnastics and everyone is huddled around the radio because south west of Sterling (right by some of our friends houses) is a rotating wall cloud. My friend Leanne could only listen as the wall cloud which dropped 6-8 funnels went right by where her house was. It was dangerously close to Bill and Paula's house to, but kept moving north instead of hitting them. Our friends Mike and Staci actually caught it on video. No one was hurt reportedly and no major property damage. There were definately prayers lifted heavenward and we are thankful for God's mercy!

The picture is Mike and Staci's too. Thanks for sharing ya'll!

Prom Pics--back at ya Staci

My friend Staci, who is back in her prom dress after 8 mths of motherhood! YEAH!!! Reminded me that when I was home for Mitch and Cathie's wedding I tried my own prom dress on. Now, I was actually heavier and less in shape in high school than I am as an adult! HA ;o) Here I am in 1985:

When I gained my freshmen 15+ in college it put me over what I ever hit pregnant. wow. Anyway, so mostly for Staci, here is my own rendition of tryin' on the prom dress 20 years later after 4 children!!!

It was more for fun than any braggin, but it's zipped!

Lacy's layout...

Spring has come to KS. The days are growing warmer and the tulips are blooming--again. I thought it was sweet some of the yellow ones did not come up the first time, just the pink and red. They of course got covered in snow.

I wanted to share a project i was working on this am (instead of grading tests, tsk tsk tsk). I enlarged the photo of lacy in the sunset and mounted it on canvas as a scrapbook page. I think it turned out sweet, unless of course you are a photo purist who hates how we scrapbookers cut and decorate photos! I tried not to overdo it. The little tag says, "dare to" DREAM. A full size layout can be found at the link above. Check it out I am also working on our wedding album and those pages are there too!

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

If you love something...

...If you love something set it free, if it comes back it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back, it never was yours to begin with.....BUT if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money and doesn't appear to realize you set it free.....You either married it or gave birth to it!

This struck me as funny today, not sure why!

A-L-A-N!

Alan got some new tractors and cars for his birthday. On Sunday he said he wanted a shelf to display his new toys. Well today, I was working downstairs and Alan was upstairs hammering. Now I tell you, I did not put 2 + 2 together. I assumed he was doing some shop work on his tractors! NNNOOOOOO! He was hanging his new shelf (the box) ! I was dumbfounded when i came in and he started to cry. There were more holes in the wall than, oh my, there were lots of holes in the wall. I think I counted 11. Well he so very much wanted to get it right, that I of course helped him and here it is: ta da! It will never fall down because the nails were like 3 inches long! There's initiative for ya!

More Easter Blessings...

We had a triple blessing this Easter. First the precious gift that Jesus gave us by dying and rising on Easter morning, taking the punishment and shame for our sake. Then we had a birthday. Our sweet little Alan's birthday fell on Easter this year. So we had a dear boy very excited about being 5. That was special. One final blessing: my dear husband was talked into doing a major solo for our Easter cantata. I wanted him to beg out of it because it was too high for him, way too high, and he had a cold. But he stuck it out and really did an awesome job. The precious part was at the end of the cantata we were singing (the choir) a song from Revelation how the saints will get to be in the presence of the Lamb and how we will "all rise in the presence of the Holy one." A few of the women in our church started to stand, not as an ovation for the choir, but out of worship for our Lord. The whole church and it was packed, stood in worship. After 45 minutes of singing, they were still hanging in there with us and they "got it". We all worshipped our Savior together!
We of course had some chocolate to enjoy the day!

Easter Blessings!

"Upon the cross of Jesus, my eyes at times can see, the very dying form of One who suffered there for me. And from my smitten heart, with tears, two wonders I confess; The wonders of redeeming love and my unworthiness! Erin and her friend Sydney with the Easter art they made during spring break.

Lacy pointing!

Our pup has grown a bit! She is going on 13 weeks. We got so much rain that the ditches north of our house were full with water. Lacy did her first swimming! Here is a shot of her looking over a wheat field close to sunset. Later we realized what a beautiful point she has. She has some pointing lab in her lineage, but it is back a bit. She is still a wire 90% of the time, but cute nonetheless.

Erin says "Thank You!"

For the money she got for her b*day. She spent it on the Biggest Littlest Pet Shop play house. "Wow", was all her mother could say. "Cool", was what her brothers said. It has provided many hours of fun already and it works so well with all of her other "little" things she likes to play with. I'm pleased that she is happy with a sweet innocent set of toys like this and not hung up on other things!
